Why is it so important to clean, sanitise and disinfect hard floor surfaces.
The Difference Between Cleaning, Sanitising and Disinfecting
Cleaning is the first step before disinfecting floor surfaces. The correct deep cleaning of tiled stone floors removes grease, grime, soil etc, therefore reducing the amount of organic matter, bacteria and germs that are hidden on porous surfaces such as stone and grout lines.
Most cleaning products will not kill viruses but thorough cleaning is required before the disinfection stage that will kill viruses, bacteria and pathogens.
Disinfection is a process by destroying pathogenic micro-organisms and removes most organisms (germs) found on surfaces.
The Deep Clean and Disinfectant Process
Kills 99.999% of bacteria and viruses including E-coli, MRSA, Lysteria, and most other viruses including COVID-19.
1). Thorough deep clean using correct products.
2). Disinfect to remove and eliminate germs, pathogens, bacterial spores etc. Remember the correct dwell time in disinfecting.
For floor surfaces, follow manufacturers guidelines.
The products used by ourselves are BS EN 1276 certified non-toxic detergents, sanitisers and disinfectants with no smells or vapours. They are also viricidal/bactericidal disinfectant products and are certified by BS EN 1276 and BS EN 14476
1). Cleaning – removes germs but does not kill them.
2). Sanitising – reduces germs to a level.
3). Disinfecting – kills germs but does not clean surfaces.
Why Clean First. Chemical disinfectants only work if surfaces have been thoroughly cleaned to remove grease, grime and soil.
Disinfectants will be less ineffective if surfaces are not cleaned first.
Hope this information will help you keep your stone tiled floors in clean, germ free condition.

Victorian Tiles
Quintessentially British with geometric patterns Victorian tiles can be restored to their natural beauty with the correct care and attention. Victorian tiles are embellishing features within period homes.
Artificial Stone
Cleaning is a necessary part of the proper maintenance of artificial manufactured stone. When it is not cleaned, the appearance of the stone can gradually decrease with in grain dirt making the surface soiled.
Natural Stone
The hardness and lifespan of Natural Stone can be increased with a good overhaul of the material finish, treatment and further maintenance. We never use metal utensils that may scratch the surface.
